Interpreting means the process of translating communication between hearing individuals, who communicate in spoken language, and individuals who communicate in sign language. Interpreters must be able to listen to an individual’s words, inflections, and intent and simultaneously render them into sign language using the mode of communication preferred by the Customer. The Interpreter must also be able to comprehend the signs, inflections, and intent of the Customer and speak them in articulate, appropriate English.
Interpretation means an addendum to a Reliability Standard, developed in accordance with the NERC Standard Processes Manual and approved by the Applicable Governmental Authority(ies), that provides additional clarity about one or more Requirements in the Reliability Standard.
Qualified interpreter means an interpreter who, via a video remote interpreting (VRI) service or an on-site appearance, is able to interpret effectively, accurately, and impartially, both receptively and expressively, using any necessary specialized vocabulary. Qualified interpreters include, for example, sign language interpreters, oral transliterators, and cued-language transliterators. 28 C.F.R. § 36.
Presumed father means a man considered to be the natural father of a child for all intents and purposes if:
Certified Interpreter means an interpreter who has demonstrated his/her ability to interpret effectively, accurately and impartially. He/she obtained national interpreter certification by taking national performance and knowledge tests. A certified interpreter has been awarded interpreter certification by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID), National Association of the Deaf (NAD), and/or the BEI (Texas).
Judge means a Judge of the Court;
Civil War means an internecine war, or a war carried on between or among opposing citizens of the same country or nations.
Construction means any physical change or change in the method of operation (including fabrication, erection, installation, demolition, or modification of an emissions unit) which would result in a change in actual emissions.

Public Purposes means the public purpose of financing $1,500,000.00 of building remodeling and improvement projects, consisting of projects included in the District's 2015-2016 building remodeling and improvement program;
Neutral ’ means an individual who, with respect to an issue in controversy, functions specifically to aid the parties in resolving the controversy;
Civil penalty means a penalty which is imposed on a credit provider by the operation of this Act and under which the debtor is not liable to pay to the credit provider an amount otherwise payable under a regulated contract.
MiFID means Directive 2004/39/EC on markets in financial instruments amending Council Directives 85/611/EEC and 93/6/EEC and Directive 2000/12/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council and repealing Council Directive 93/22/EEC;
Do-not-resuscitate order means that term as defined in section 2 of the Michigan do-not-resuscitate procedure act, 1996 PA 193, MCL 333.1052.
Enforced disappearance of persons means the arrest, detention or abduction of persons by, or with the authorization, support or acquiescence of, a State or a political organization, followed by a refusal to acknowledge that deprivation of freedom or to give information on the fate or whereabouts of those persons, with the intention of removing them from the protection of the law for a prolonged period of time.
Alleged father means a man who alleges himself to be, or is alleged to be, the genetic father or a possible genetic father of a child, but whose paternity has not been determined. The term does not include:
Interpretation Act means the Interpretation Act (British Columbia) from time to time in force and all amendments thereto and includes all regulations and amendments thereto made pursuant to that Act;
Civil union means a civil union established pursuant to Act 91 of the 2000 Vermont Legislative Session, entitled “Act Relating to Civil Unions”.
consolidating supervisor means the competent authority responsible for the exercise of supervision on a consolidated basis of EU parent institutions and institutions controlled by EU parent financial holding companies or EU parent mixed financial holding companies.
After-imposed Federal tax means any new or increased Federal excise tax or duty, or tax that was exempted or excluded on the contract date but whose exemption was later revoked or reduced during the contract period, on the transactions or property covered by this contract that the Contractor is required to pay or bear as the result of legislative, judicial, or administrative action taking effect after the contract date. It does not include social security tax or other employment taxes.

Substantive Pay means the pay other than special pay, personal pay or emoluments classed as pay by the Executive Council, to which a University employee is entitled on account of a post to which he has been appointed substantively or by reason of his substantive position in a cadre.
public purpose means any of the purposes for which land may be reserved under Part 4 of the Land Administration Act 1997, and any purpose declared by the Governor pursuant to that Act, by notification in the Government Gazette to be a public purpose within the meaning of that Act;
Referee means a person who is designated as a referee under the friend of the court act.
Intentional Wrongdoing means an act or omission taken or omitted by a Party with knowledge or intent that injury or damage could reasonably be expected to result.
