This study aims to present the contribution of play in the toy library as a teaching and learning tool. As regards the understanding of rules in this space subsidized by games and play , become easy and can be made &8203;&8203;through a verbal contract , flexible and by mutual agreement between the members of the playing . To do this we sought to conceptualize the historical play , spontaneous phenomenon and especially the world of childhood brokered by toy ; and describe the function of professional toy librarian , mediator of the play and the concept of contract. From a methodological point of view it was conducted participant observation , seeking this opportunity to consider that even with the proposed free play, there are rules that are implied in the play and these may be appropriate to the context of the toyroom .
