2: Serious Health Condition Sample Clauses

2: Serious Health Condition. A serious health condition is generally defined as a condition requiring inpatient care or that poses an imminent danger of death in the near future or that requires constant care. A serious health condition includes a patient’s disability due to pregnancy or a period of absence for prenatal care. Not all medical conditions are serious health conditions. Generally, routine illnesses such as colds or flu that can be treated with non‐prescription drugs or bed rest will not be considered serious health conditions. Employees who are unsure whether a medical condition qualifies as a serious health condition should contact their manager or the Human Resources department for information or consult the Family & Medical Leave Policy.
