Common use of (a) DUES DEDUCTION Clause in Contracts

(a) DUES DEDUCTION. The Employer shall deduct current regular dues and initiation fees from each paycheck and remit such fees to the Union by the twentieth (20th) day or first working day after the twentieth (20th) each month unless the employee has made arrangements to make direct payment of dues to the Union and notified the Employer and the Union in writing of same. Payroll deduction of dues shall be optional with the employee. Employees who choose to pay dues directly to the Union shall be responsible for payment.
