AB 1826. State of California Assembly Bill No. 1826 approved by the Governor 87 on September 28, 2014 and codified at Chapter 12.9 (commencing with Section 42649.8) of 88 Part 3 of Division 30 of the Public Resources Code. In summary, AB 1826 requires each 89 jurisdiction, on and after January 1, 2016, to implement an organic waste recycling program to 90 divert organic waste from businesses. Each business meeting specific organic waste or solid 91 waste generation thresholds phased in from April 1, 2016 to January 1, 2020 is required to 92 arrange for organic waste recycling services.
