AB 1826. “AB 1826” means State of California Assembly Bill No. 1826 approved September 28, 2014. AB 1826 requires each jurisdiction, on and after January 1, 2016, to implement an organic waste recycling program to divert from the landfill organic waste from businesses. Each business meeting specific organic waste or solid waste generation thresholds phased in from April 1, 2016 to January 1, 2020, is required to arrange for organic waste recycling services.
