Absences for Other Reasons. A. Other Funeral Up to one (1) additional day per year is allowed to use in the event of the death of a friend or relative outside the employee’s immediate family (as defined in Section 3A, above) at no deduction. After one (1) day per year of other funeral leave, the cost of a substitute in the amount equal to the daily substitute rate will be deducted even if no substitute is required, unless school is not in session and days will be made up (snow days). Such leave must receive the prior approval of the administration.
