Accommodation, Board and Lodging. (a) Employees on travel status who stay in non-commercial lodging shall be entitled to claim $50 per day except where the lodging is supplied by the Employer. An employee submitting a lodging allowance claim shall not be entitled to reimbursement for commercial lodging costs for the same period. (b) In order to be eligible for this Lodging Allowance, an employee who uses an employer provided vehicle to travel to the non-commercial lodging must not travel more than 50 kilometres from the commercial lodging provided for any other employee on their assigned crew or the start-up worksite of their assigned crew to the non-commercial accommodation. This limitation does not apply to an employee who uses transportation not provided by the Employer. (c) It is agreed and understood that where the Employer supplies lodging using community services, the employee will be entitled to single accommodation, unless the employee elects otherwise or where sufficient accommodation is not available. The Employer may offer employees the option of sharing employer provided accommodation. Each employee is free to choose whether or not to accept the Employer's offer to share employer provided accommodation. No employee will be discriminated against if they choose to not accept the Employer's offer. If two employees agree to share employer provided accommodation, the Employer will pay to each employee sharing the accommodation, an amount equal to an additional one-half of the daily meal allowance.
