Common use of Accumulate Benefits Clause in Contracts

Accumulate Benefits. As of the 1981-82 school year, all employees shall each year be entitled to the scheduled sick leave benefits as of the first official day of said school year. Unused sick leave days shall accumulate with a maximum limit being 110 days per employee. A physician chosen by the employer may review the employee’s medical proof at the employer’s expense. Each employee will be able to use up to ten (10) days per year of his or her sick leave to attend to an ill or injured parent, spouse, child, brother, sister, grandparent or grandchild. Each employee will be able to use up to five (5) days per year of his or her sick leave to attend to an ill or injured father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandfather-in-law or grandmother-in-law or significant other*. (*Building administrator will be responsible to approve or deny this leave request) If an employee uses zero (0) sick days or one (1) sick day during the contract year, the employer will pay $250 to the employee, provided that they have accumulated their maximum limit of 110 sick days (excluding donation to sick leave bank). If an employee uses two (2) sick days during the contract year, the employer will pay $150 to the employee, provided that they have accumulated their maximum limit of 110 sick days (excluding donation to sick leave bank). If an employee uses zero (0) personal days during the contract year, the employer will pay $150.00 to the employee, provided that they have accumulated their maximum limit of five personal days. If an employee uses one (1) personal day during the contract year, the employer will pay $100.00 to the employee, provided that they have accumulated their maximum limit of five personal days.
