Acting Chairperson. If the Chairperson cannot preside at a meeting or any part thereof, the Vice-Chairperson shall act as Chairperson.
Acting Chairperson. 9.1 In the event that the JMG Chairperson is absent from any meeting of the JMG any other Representative in attendance at the meeting may be elected as chairperson for that meeting by a majority of the Representatives present (the "Acting Chairperson"). In these circumstances, if the Acting Chairperson is a Representative with voting rights, he/she will be entitled to vote whilst acting as Chairperson.
Acting Chairperson. If the post of department chairperson is vacant (or if the chairperson is on extended leave) and must be filled temporarily while the selection process described above proceeds, the president shall designate an acting department chairperson upon consultation with the full-time faculty. If a reorganization results in the splitting or merging of departments in which the composition of the department changes by more than 20 percent, the departments thus formed shall be declared to have a chairperson vacancy. The acting chairperson procedure shall be followed in such instances. Normally an acting chairperson shall serve no longer than twelve months.
Acting Chairperson. When both the Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson are either absent or elect not to preside, the Board shall designate a member of the Board to serve as Acting Chairperson. In any such case, the Acting Chairperson shall have the same duties and authority of the Chairperson and shall serve until either the Chairperson or Vice-Chairperson resume their duties.
