Advanced Child Care Worker. A. An Advanced Child Care Worker is an unqualified carer in an OOSH or a carer in a Long Day Care/Preschool who must hold an AQF Certificate III in Children’s Services. An Employee at this level has the responsibility to develop, plan and implement the child care program. An Employee at this level may be responsible for the direction of other staff for which they have responsibility. An Employee at this level may be required by the Employer to perform some or all of the following duties: • has direct responsibilities for the management of a group or groups of children in conjunction with the Employer of the service; • ensure the maintenance of a healthy and safe work environment; • ensure a safe, healthy and clean indoor and outdoor environment for children; • liaise with parents as to needs of the children and the services; • maintain appropriate and up to date records; • ensure that programs are planned, implemented and evaluated for each child in their care; • ensure that all regulations, licensing guidelines, service policies and procedures are observed; • carry out administrative duties which relate to effective room management and child care responsibilities; • other duties as required by the Employer as are within the knowledge, skills and capabilities of the carer, including duties at a lower classification; provided that this does not promote xx-xxxxxxxx.
