Common use of Alternate Work Weeks Clause in Contracts

Alternate Work Weeks. Both parties agree that at the discretion of the Police Chief, alternative work schedules which include a total of 2,080 annual working hours, if mutually agreed to, may be implemented for designated periods of time for all represented employees for the lifetime of this MOU; any new alternative work schedule established during the term of this MOU shall initially be established on a six-month trial basis. During the trial period if there is a significant increase in overtime costs attributable to the trial plan, or significant increases in sick leave usage or workers compensation claims the department may opt to stop the trial work schedule.
