Common use of Annual Meeting/Collective Bargaining Workshop Clause in Contracts

Annual Meeting/Collective Bargaining Workshop. (a) Where operational requirements permit and on reasonable notice as provided in Article 13.04(b), the Employer shall grant leave with pay for a period not exceeding three (3) working days, and leave without pay for travelling time for such portion of the working day prior to and following the meeting as may be required, to Employees who are elected or appointed as registered delegates to attend the Annual Meeting or the Collective Bargaining Workshop of the Union. Such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld. The Employer shall only grant such leave for either the Annual Meeting or the Collective Bargaining Workshop in any one year. However, upon three (3) months advance written request, and if operational requirements permit, the Employer may grant leave as provided herein for both the Annual Meeting and the Collective Bargaining Workshop in the same year if neither were held in the previous year.
