Common use of Appointing Authority Initiated Clause in Contracts

Appointing Authority Initiated. a. If the Appointing Authority has reasonable cause to believe that a permanent employee is unfit or unable to perform the duties of his/her position as a result of disability, injury or illness, after consultation with the Association, the employee may be placed on a leave of absence for a period not to exceed six (6) months in duration.
