Apprentice Ratio to Trades people. To ensure that apprentices receive appropriate on the job training by experienced tradespeople and apprentice numbers are maximised, the Employer shall endeavour to maintain a ratio of at least one apprentice to three (3) tradespeople. Where this is not achievable due to health and safety reasons or matters outside of the Employer’s’ control, the parties shall discuss the matter and try and reach a settlement. In the event of a dispute in relation to matters dealt with in this clause 14.4.3 arising, the procedure in clauses 12.2.1 and 12.2.6 of this Agreement will apply. If not settled the matter may be referred by the employee (or if the employee elects by their representative) or the Employer to the Disputes Board in accordance with clause 12.2.11 of this Agreement. 1:1 ratio. The parties shall discuss and implement agreed strategies to maximise apprentice intake for the Employer. Provided that the application of this Clause shall not be used to displace existing employees.
