Common use of Assigned Length of Stay Clause in Contracts

Assigned Length of Stay. Once an elective admission has been pre-certified, a length of stay is assigned. If the hospital stay extends beyond the assigned length of stay, all charges for the additional days of stay will be subject to a ten percent (10%) co-insurance in addition to the deductible and co-insurance provisions. This ten percent (10%) co-insurance does not apply to the out-of-pocket maximum.
