Cost Containment. The Benefit Fund Trustees are directed to explore all reasonable methods of cost containment to minimize the Employer contribution obligations under the contract. In the event Medicare becomes secondary in the application of the retiree benefit plan, the Trustees will take immediate and remedial action to protect the financial integrity of the Plan.
Cost Containment. The City reserves the right to institute cost containment measures relative to insurance coverage so long as the basic level of insurance benefits remains the same as the basic benefit level of the insurance coverage provided in this Agreement. Such changes may include, but not limited to, mandatory second opinions for elective surgery, pre-admission and continuing admission review, prohibition on week-end admissions except in emergency situations, mandatory out-patient elective surgery for certain designated surgical procedures, and voluntary wellness or physical fitness programs.

The Association agrees to participation in a District cost 45 reduction committee to meet on an as needed basis to address the extensive current 1 and projected increases in health care costs. Cost Containment. The parties agree and affirm that they will work with each other to effectively contain health insurance costs through encouraging proper utilization of the program and continued support of the Wellness Program.
Cost Containment. The Union and all employees covered by this agreement shall cooperate with the City in all cost containment efforts including further study and implementation of cost containment alternatives; provided that the City shall not implement any reduction in benefits without reasonable notice and mutual agreement of the Union. The Union members will have representation in the City’s cost containment decisions as other employee groups.
Cost Containment. The term "employee" as it pertains to this section shall mean the employee and all of his eligible dependents.
Cost Containment. If premium rates increase during the life of this Agreement by more than 8%, the parties agree to meet and discuss the increase in premium cost for the purpose of discussing alternatives to maintain cost control, including, but not limited to, alternate insurance coverage, and alternate means of providing coverage. The employees recognize the right of the City to secure alternate insurance carriers and to modify insurance coverage so as to continue to provide equivalent or better benefits, which measures may be used to maintain or lessen premium costs. In the event that the Central Ohio Health Care Consortium Plan is no longer available or a viable option, or in the event that the cost increases by 25% or more, including any special assessments, then the parties will meet to bargain over possible replacement coverage. The City agrees to meet and discuss any proposed modifications in the insurance plan or change of carrier prior to the time any modifications or change of carrier would be implemented.
Cost Containment. The District and the Association shall pursue ways to ensure cost containment through review, analysis and to include possible change of Carriers/Administrators of present Health and Welfare plans.
