Assistant Professor. An earned doctorate from an accredited institution or other terminal qualifications appropriate to the position as stipulated in the departmental bylaws, subject to the review and approval of the appropriate xxxx and the PVPAA. Exceptions may be made because of unusual scholarly achievements or unusual professional service achievements. Associate Professor: An earned doctorate from an accredited institution or other terminal qualifications appropriate to the position as stipulated in the departmental bylaws, subject to the review and approval of the appropriate xxxx and the PVPAA; normally five (5) years of full-time higher education experience at the rank of Instructor or above, completed prior to application for the Associate Professor rank; compliance with the provisions of Section 5.4.
