Common use of Attaining Advancement Clause in Contracts

Attaining Advancement. An employee, in order to be advanced in steps, must demonstrate that advancement is merited on the basis of job performance. Advancements shall not be made solely because employees are eligible according to time-in-step requirements. Good attitude and personal conduct, work accomplished, conscientious attendance, safety alertness, efforts at self-improvement, and other factors of individual achievement must be evident as appropriate to the position.
