Common use of Authority of Arbitration Board Clause in Contracts

Authority of Arbitration Board. 1) It is understood and agreed that the Arbitration Board shall have the authority only to settle disputes under the terms of this Agreement and may only interpret and apply to this Agreement the facts of the particular grievance involved. Only grievances arising from the interpretation, application, administration, or alleged violation of this Agreement, including a question as to whether a matter is arbitrable, shall be arbitrable. 2) The Board of Arbitration shall have no power to alter, add to, subtract from, modify or amend this Agreement or any part of it, nor to give any decision inconsistent therewith, nor to deal with any matter that is not a proper matter for a grievance under this Agreement.
