Common use of Author’s First Right of Refusal Clause in Contracts

Author’s First Right of Refusal. ‌ A faculty member who has initially authored a distance education course will be given first right of refusal to teach that course each time it is offered for the first two (2) times it is offered. This right to teach may be extended by mutual agreement of the Chief Academic Officer and the faculty member if the member is authorized to redevelop an existing distance education course.
