Common use of Base Clause in Contracts

Base. The base shall be made of steel or concrete or a combination of these materials and have a mass of at least 500 kg. It shall be so constructed that there is no significant deformation of the surface under the test load. No part of the base or anvil shall have a resonance frequency liable to affect the measurements.
