Common use of Benefits While on Compensation Clause in Contracts

Benefits While on Compensation. ‌ Regular employees who are absent from work and in receipt of WCB wage loss replacement benefits shall be considered as being on unpaid leave of absence, except that seniority and benefits shall be applied as follows: (a) seniority hours pursuant to Clause 11.1 shall continue to accrue; (b) PTO entitlement in Clause 17.1 shall continue to accrue; and (c) the Health and Welfare provisions of Article 24 will continue to apply for 20 working shifts or the end of the calendar month in which the employee is injured whichever is greater.
