Common use of Blood or Blood Plasma Donation Leave Clause in Contracts

Blood or Blood Plasma Donation Leave. Blood Donations. Employees are encouraged to serve as unpaid blood or plasma donors. If requested, employees may be excused from work without charge to leave for up to four (4) hours of excused absence, subject to operational requirements, for blood/plasma donations conducted on the installation, or, off of the installation in emergency situations or when the worksite is not located on an installation. This is not intended to mean that every employee is expected to need four hours. Within the four hour maximum, the time includes time necessary for blood donation, recuperation, and necessary travel. Normally requests for absence to donate blood will be made as far in advance as possible. The employee will provide verification of off-installation donation.
