Breaks in Benefit Seniority. Seniority and the employment relationship shall be terminated when an employee: (1) Quits or resigns; or (2) Is discharged; or (3) Is laid off and fails to report to work within ten (10) calendar days after having been recalled; or (4) Does not report for work within seventy-two (72) hours after the termination of an authorized leave of absence; or (5) Is laid off for a period in excess of three (3) years or the extension of the recall rights in accordance with Article 13; or (6) Retires or is retired.
