Common use of Bumping into the Bargaining Unit Clause in Contracts

Bumping into the Bargaining Unit. Any nonbargaining unit employee who had been a member of the bargaining unit, or employed in a position which would have been included in the bargaining unit prior to its formation, may bump back into the bargaining unit to the classification he/she previously held, provided however, the employee shall apply only that time he/she accrued as a member of the bargaining unit as seniority and not the total time he/she may have accrued within the Sheriff’s Office.
