By Promotion of Employees within the District. 1. If the vacancy is not filled through the provisions of paragraph a or b, all employees within the District who have applied will be considered for the position. In considering the employee(s), the Board shall consider, but not be limited to, the employee’s experience and job performance with the District, the results of any tests, if one is given, and the qualifications set forth in the job description. The position shall be awarded to the most qualified candidate. If two (2) or more employees are equally qualified, the employee with experience in the classification series shall be awarded the position. If the most qualified candidates both work in the classification series, the most senior employee shall be awarded the position. If the most qualified candidates do not work within the classification series, the employee with the most district seniority shall be selected to fill the position. If no person employed by the District is qualified for the position, the position may be awarded to an outside candidate. a) The following conditions will be followed for promotions of food service employees: 1) Assistant cooks/cashiers must have satisfactorily completed six (6) months of service in that position before being eligible for a Head Xxxx position. 2) Head Cooks must have satisfactorily completed six (6) months of service in that position before eligible for the Cafeteria Manager position. b) The following conditions will be followed for promotions of Custodial employees: Assistant Custodian must be in the employ of the Board of Education full-time for a period of six (6) months, and have a minimum of seven hundred and fifty (750) compensated hours in that period, before being eligible for a Head Custodian position.
