Calculating Years of Employment for Notice Requirements. For purposes of calculating years of employment under the notice requirements cited in Section 3.3, unit members hired between July 1 and November 30 of any calendar year will be considered to have completed their first year of employment on July 1 of the next fiscal year. Unit members hired between December 1 and June 30 of any calendar year will be considered to have completed their first year of employment not on July 1 of the next fiscal year, but on July 1 the year thereafter e.g., a new hire on December 1, 2017 would be credited with the first year of employment on July 1, 2019.
