Common use of Call-Out Pay Clause in Contracts

Call-Out Pay. 20.01 When an Employee is called from home to work at a time outside their normal working hours, that Employee shall be paid the overtime rate for the actual hours worked during such call-out and for the time spent travelling to and from work; but, nevertheless, is guaranteed a minimum of four (4) hours’ pay or compensatory time off at their regular rate per call-out, except that in the case of Employees required to do snow removal, if such a call-out forms a continuous period with the Employee's normal working hours, no minimum shall apply. 20.02 When the call-out results in additional trips between the Employee's residence and their place of work, mileage rates or transportation fares, whichever is appropriate, shall be paid by the Board. 20.03 When a call-out forms a continuous period with the Employee's normal working hours, the Employee’s normal working hours will not be reduced as a result of the call-out.
