Cancelling acceptance. If you wish to withdraw your acceptance of a place after submitting the Acceptance Form and paying the Deposit but before your child starts at the School you must give written notice to that effect prior to the first day of the Term immediately preceding the term in which your child was due to start. If such notice is received by that time the Deposit will be forfeited in accordance with clause 2(c) above but no further fees will be payable. However if such notice is received on or after that date, (or if no notice is received at all), a term’s fees shall be payable and shall become due and owing to the School as a debt. The term’s fees shall be charged at such rate as would have been charged for the term had the Pupil taken up their place at the School and the School shall credit the Deposit (without interest) to such payment of the term’s fees. You hereby acknowledge and agree that the School shall be entitled to retain the deposit on account of payment of the term’s fees.

This means that if, for example, your child is due to start at the School in September (at the start of an academic year) then you would need to tell us in writing that you wish to withdraw Acceptance on or before the first day of the preceding Summer Term (ie, the final Term of the previous academic year) or pay Fes in lieu of Notice.

If the Parents give more than one Term's Notice the Nursery will limit the Parents' liability to the Acceptance Deposit held. The Acceptance Deposit should therefore only be paid once a firm decision to join the Nursery has been made. Cases of genuine hardship will be given special consideration on written request.

If the parents cancel their acceptance of a place less than a term before the entry date or the pupil does not join the School after a place has been accepted and not cancelled, a term's fees will be payable and shall become due and owing to the School as a debt. The term’s fees shall be charged at the rate applicable for the term immediately preceding the term your child was due to start and the deposit will be credited without notice to such payment of the term’s fees (and you hereby acknowledge and agree that the School shall be entitled to retain the deposit on account of payment of the term’s fees). Parents who cancel acceptance on more than a full term's notice before entry will not be required to pay fees in lieu of notice but the deposit will be retained by the School.
