Canine Care. 42.1 Officers who are dog-handlers are responsible for the proper caring, grooming, feeding and exercising of the dogs assigned to them. One hour per day outside of normal working hours is considered sufficient for these activities. If circumstances require more than one hour in a day, the Chief of Police must approve the additional time in order for an Officer to be compensated for that time.
