Deputy Sheriff. Deputy Sheriffs shall be paid a uniform allowance of nine hundred dollars ($900.00) per year to cover all costs associated with the purchase and maintenance of the uniform which the Sheriff requires to be worn. The allowance will be paid in two equal installments of four hundred fifty dollars ($450.00), payable during the months of January and July within a normal paycheck with taxes withheld. Vouchers for payment will be submitted to the County Board of Commissioners during the Board’s first meeting of January and July. There shall be no initial waiting period of eligibility for uniform allowance. Effective for uniform changes including alterations or modifications noticed after July 1, 2015 the employees will be given reasonable notice prior to any such changes, alterations or modifications.
Deputy Sheriff. (Class 005746): Provided that the conditions set forth in B.1 herein have been met, every employee in Class 005746 having an appointment as a result of certification from an eligible list, shall advance within range as follows:
i. Following completion of service in their class of at least the number of hours equivalent to fifty-two (52) weeks of full-time service, the employee shall advance to step 3 of the range prescribed for Class 005746.
ii. Following completion of service in their class of at least the number of hours equivalent to twenty-six (26) weeks of full-time service at step 3, the employee shall advance to step 4 of the range prescribed for Class 005746.
iii. Following completion of service in their class of at least the number of hours equivalent to fifty-two (52) weeks of full- time service at step 4, 5, 6 or 7, the employee shall advance to the next higher step within the range prescribed for Class 005746.
iv. Following completion of service in their class of at least fifty- two (52) weeks of continuous paid regular service at step 7, the employee shall advance to step 8 of the range prescribed for Class 005746. Step 8 shall be approximately ten percent (10%) above step 7. This rate shall be determined by multiplying the hourly rate at step 7 by a factor of 1.1 and rounding upward to the next cent any resulting fraction of a cent over .005.
Deputy Sheriff. Sergeants shall not be transferred from one division of the Sheriff's Department to another division except where necessary for department-wide reorganizations, Deputy Sheriff- Sergeant staff reduction or for cause.
Deputy Sheriff. Sheriff’s Senior Deputy Upon initial employment with the County, for all employees hired after January 1, 1988, County agrees to make a onetime payment of five hundred dollars ($500.00) for uniform purchases. For all employees newly hired on or after December 31, 2017 this allowance shall be one thousand two hundred dollars ($1,200.00). This allowance is for the following classes of employees:
Deputy Sheriff. A Deputy Sheriff shall serve in a probationary period for one (1) year. This probationary 26 period will begin upon the date of completing the Field Training Program. Certified Court Security 27 Deputies’ probationary period will begin upon the date of initial assignment. The probationary period 28 may be extended by the Sheriff for up to an additional year with the consent of the employee. This 29 authority to extend the probationary period shall be the exception rather than the rule. In the event that 30 probation is extended, the employee will enter into a contract with the Sheriff specifying the terms of 31 the extension.
32 a. If any leave or other absence, in excess of 80 hours, interrupts the initial probationary period, or 33 the probationary period following promotion, the length of the probationary period may be 34 extended by that length of the leave or other absence.
Deputy Sheriff. Sergeants from the supervisory functions in the jail and create a Jail Crimes Investigation Unit staffed by Sheriff’s Deputies and Sergeants. The parties have met and conferred on the impact of deleting the sixteen codes and the creation of the Jail Crimes Investigation Unit and have memorialized the results of those discussions below.
Deputy Sheriff. (Class 5746): Provided that the conditions set forth in C.1 herein have been met, every employee in Class 5746 having an appointment as a result of certification from an eligible list, shall advance within range as follows:
i. The employee shall enter at step 1. On the first day of the pay period following graduation from an approved Academy, the employee shall advance to step 2 of the range prescribed for Class 5746.
ii. Following completion of service in his/her class of at least the number of hours equivalent to fifty-two (52) weeks of full-time service, the employee shall advance to step 3 of the range prescribed for Class 5746.
iii. Following completion of service in his/her class of at least the number of hours equivalent to twenty-six (26) weeks of full-time service at step 3, the employee shall advance to step 4 of the range prescribed for Class 5746.
iv. Following completion of service in his/her class of at least the number of hours equivalent to fifty-two (52) weeks of full-time service at step 4, 5, 6 or 7, the employee shall advance to the next higher step within the range prescribed for Class 5746.
v. Following completion of service in his/her class of at least fifty- two (52) weeks of continuous paid regular service at step 7, the employee shall advance to step 8 of the range prescribed for Class 5746. Step 8 shall be approximately ten percent (10%) above step 7. This rate shall be determined by multiplying the hourly rate at step 7 by a factor of 1.1 and rounding upward to the next cent any resulting fraction of a cent over .005.
Deputy Sheriff. 1st Class: Officers rated as Deputy Sheriff will advance to Deputy Sheriff 1st Class upon 37 reaching 7 years' service/seniority and must have successfully completed 200 hours of approved training. 38 An officer may substitute up to 100 classroom hours of law enforcement college level classes for the 200 39 training hours required. An officer will receive 5% proficiency pay upon meeting the requirements to 40 become a Deputy Sheriff 1st Class.
Deputy Sheriff. 1’s and 2’s shall be advanced into step level two (2) twelve (12) months after the initial hiring date and into all other steps twelve (12) months after the preceding advancement.
Deputy Sheriff. Carriage House rentals are required to have a deputy sheriff on site until the last gate is locked. The rate for one deputy covers events up to 200 people and has been included in the rental rate fee schedule. Goodwood will secure and schedule the deputy. For events over 200 persons, Goodwood will secure deputies at a rate of $35/per hour based up on one additional deputy for every 100 people over 200. The hours for the additional deputy sheriff(s) will be determined 30 days prior to the event. Fees for the additional deputies hours will be determined and deducted from the Security Deposit.
