Career Change Leaves. (Seniority fixed and benefits non-accruing.) A bargaining unit member may be granted a leave of absence for up to a maximum of one year for the purpose of exploring the possibility of making a "career change". The conditions governing this leave are as follows: 1. Minimum of five (5) years seniority. 2. Requests for career change leaves shall be submitted in writing to the Human Resource Office. 3. Career Change Leaves are not permitted for the purpose of changing bargaining units within the Utica District. 4. Career Change Leaves are not permitted for the purpose of working for another agency and/or employer in classifications (positions) represented by this bargaining unit. 5. The granting or denial of the Career Change Leave shall not be grievable.
