Common use of Cargo Handling Clause in Contracts

Cargo Handling. The Special Agreement to be signed for each vessel, shall provide arrangements for cargo handling and other work traditionally or historically done by dock workers, see Appendix B, art. 1 litra j. Compensation to the crew for such work performed during normal working week shall be by the payment of the overtime rate as specified in the wage scale, for each hour or part of an hour that such work is performed, in addition to the basic wage. Any such work performed outside the normal working week will be compensated at double the overtime rate as specified in the wage scale for each hour or part of an hour that such work is performed.
