Common use of Casual Utilization Clause in Contracts

Casual Utilization. i) A casual Nurse will provide availability for shifts for the six (6) week schedule at least two (2) weeks in advance of the posting of the schedule. Casual Nurses will be offered work in order of seniority according to their availability and operational needs. ii) Casual employees who have been offered and accepted shifts based on their availability cannot cancel such shifts and the process for exchanging a scheduled shift in Article 14.06 is to be followed. iii) Casual Nurses are expected to maintain competence to work as a VON Nurse. A casual Nurse who has not provided availability or has refused offers of work for a period in excess of two (2) months, without an explanation satisfactory to the Employer, will be removed from the casual list.
