Common use of Charge Nurse Premium Clause in Contracts

Charge Nurse Premium. Effective November 3, 2022: (a) Whenever a nurse is assigned overall responsibility for patient care on the unit, xxxx, or area, the nurse shall be paid a premium of two dollars ($2.00) per hour in addition to their regular salary and applicable premium allowance. (b) Before assigning a nurse to be in charge of a unit, the nurse will receive orientation to the role of the charge nurse on that unit. It is understood that such nurse may be assigned to any tour as part of the nurse’s orientation program, providing such assignment is in accordance with any scheduling regulations or objectives contained in the Appendix of Local Provisions which forms part of this Collective Agreement.
