Common use of Cheques, Credit Cards, Cash Handling and Credit Accounts Clause in Contracts

Cheques, Credit Cards, Cash Handling and Credit Accounts. When an employee is authorized to cash cheques, honour credit cards or credit accounts, he or she will not be held responsible for any losses provided he or she has followed management's instructions. Where an employee assumes responsibility of cashing cheques, honouring credit cards or credit accounts without proper authorization from management he or she will be held responsible. Management may require that restitution be made if instructions have not been correctly followed. No disciplinary action will be taken against employees making restitution. No employee shall be disciplined or made to make restitution for shortages unless the employee has sole access to the cash.
