CHIEF INTEGRATED RATING. The CIR is responsible ⮚ to the Master but acts under the direction of the First Officer for deck and cargo related duties or the First Engineer when undertaking Engine Room associated tasks ⮚ for the supervision of all IRs and trainees TIR (excluding trainee Engineers) ⮚ for ensuring that all work assignments under his control are allocated to them and carried out in a safe and efficient manner He advises the Master of any deficiencies in the System and suggests improvements The CIR is a Member of the Committee of Management and of the Working Group that assigns crew members to the various tasks on board. The CIR will carry out any of the operational and maintenance duties as contained in the Ratings Duty Statement Ratings will be responsible to the Master for all operational requirements and to the Chief Engineer for all maintenance requirements as required from time to time. Ratings will be required to carry out operational duties in regards to the loading and discharging of the Vessel. This will include but not limited to: ⮚ After appropriate training, assist to load and discharge the vessel. ⮚ Operating and setting operational parameters. ⮚ Checking alarms on MHP (Cranes) and determining whether assistance is required. ⮚ Ballast and de-ballast as required during loading and discharging respectively. ⮚ Monitor and respond to Engine Room alarms when rostered on engine room duty. ⮚ Bunkering operations Ratings will be rostered on operational duty by the Master as follows: ⮚ On watch keeping duty at sea their main function is to serve as lookouts at night and when not required for lookout duty they may be employed on other maintenance duties provided they can be recalled immediately. ⮚ On day work they may be assigned to any maintenance duties ⮚ Arrival and departure duties including mooring and un-mooring the vessel Ratings will be required to carry out all maintenance requirements on the vessels machinery including the MHP. This will include but not limited to; ⮚ Maintenance and repairs to MHP during loading and discharging operations. ⮚ Carry out maintenance of regular routine nature when rostered on engine room duty. ⮚ Supervise any shore contractors called in for repairs. ⮚ Record maintenance history; ⮚ Generate, perform and close work orders; ⮚ Carry out stock searches; ⮚ Carry out planned maintenance covering the cargo area. ⮚ Liaise with the Chief Engineer for maintenance requirements, equipment condition, and planned maintenance. ⮚ Liaise with th...
