CALCULATING OVERTIME PAYMENT COMPONENT Sample Clauses

CALCULATING OVERTIME PAYMENT COMPONENT. Overtime hours (as per section 2 above) worked in any fortnight will be paid at the overtime rate for the position occupied. For the purpose of calculating overtime payments in respect of hours worked each fortnight shall stand alone. If an Employee works only part of the fortnightly pay period the Employees’ overtime hours to be made available shall be reduced on a pro rata basis for any fortnight in which the Employee is joining or leaving the ship. Where an Employee refuses or fails, other than where the Employee is on approved leave or as agreed below, to work any period of time during the initial 112 hours per fortnight during the On Swing period of the Roster Cycle, the Company is not required to pay the Employee for the period (hours) not worked by the Employee and will not be required to offer any overtime work to the Employee in excess of 112 hours per fortnight. If in any fortnight the Employee requests to work less than the required minimum 112 hours in that fortnight then the Master may agree to the reduction in hours provided the request and agreement are in writing. The fortnightly pay will be adjusted by the agreed reduction in hours at the applicable rate. Employees can request to reduce the hours by up to a maximum of 32 hours in any fortnight. In all other circumstances Employees are required to work the minimum 8 hours each day of the On Swing period i.e. 56 hours in each full week .
