GUARANTEED OVERTIME HOURS. The guaranteed minimum amount of overtime hours referred to in section 2 of this Appendix is intended to replace the use of shore contractors as far as practicable on the vessel. The range of work to be undertaken during guaranteed overtime hours will include but not be limited to the following: ⮚ main engine repairs and maintenance; ⮚ engine room auxiliary equipment repairs and maintenance; ⮚ deck machinery repairs and maintenance; ⮚ material handling plant (cranes) repairs and maintenance (including breakdown repairs during loading/discharges); ⮚ steelwork and pipework repairs; ⮚ contract cleaning of the accommodation and common areas. The Chief Officer and First Engineer in consultation with the Chief Integrated Rating are to post an outline of the intended overtime hours that are to be made available for the coming fortnight. The outline is to be verified by the Master and Chief Engineer. The outline is to be a guide only for seafarers and may be varied from time-to-time by the Master and Chief Engineer.

The provisions of this clause do not exclude the payment of overtime for extra work that is required to be performed due to unforeseen special and extenuating circumstances. Any such claims are to be authorised either by the Master, Chief Engineer, Chief Officer, first Engineer, and where required, in consultation with the Chief Integrated Rating.

  • Planned Overtime In making planned overtime assignments the Employer shall first assign overtime on an equal opportunity basis according to each section’s procedure (Schedule E), as agreed to by the parties. Such overtime shall be assigned to employees who are actively on the payroll and who have indicated their willingness to accept overtime assignments according to section procedures and who are:

  • Banked Overtime In the event the day in lieu of working the statutory holiday is not provided as stipulated in 8.01.04, this portion may also be banked.

  • Scheduled Overtime Scheduled overtime is overtime which is assigned by the end of the employee's last worked shift prior to the overtime assignment and which does not immediately precede or immediately follow a scheduled work shift. Unless notified otherwise in advance of the scheduled starting time of the scheduled overtime assignment, any employee who is scheduled to report for work and who reports as scheduled shall be assigned at least two (2) hours work. If work is not available, the employee may be excused from duty and paid for two (2) hours at the employee's appropriate rate. If the employee begins work but is excused from duty before completing two (2) hours of work, the employee shall be paid for two (2) hours at the employee's appropriate rate.

  • Unscheduled Overtime I. a payment of forty dollars ($40.00) as a meal allowance.

  • Overtime Hours Except as otherwise provided in this section, all hours worked in excess of the established work day, before or after an employee's regular scheduled shift, or on any regularly scheduled day off, shall be considered overtime. All paid vacation time, paid holidays, paid sick leave, compensatory time off, and paid leaves of absence shall be considered as "time worked" for purposes of this Article. Part-time employees whose established work day is less than eight (8) hours shall not be considered to be working overtime until having completed eight (8) hours of work.

  • Overtime Work A. Overtime pay is to be paid at the rate of one and one- half (1½) times the basic hourly straight-time rate.

  • Regular Overtime Any overtime work scheduled in advance of the administrative workweek as part of an employee's regularly scheduled workweek is considered regular overtime. An employee shall be compensated for every minute of regular overtime work in accordance with 5 CFR 550.

  • Work Period; Overtime Pay The work period for overtime computation purposes shall be a seven (7) day period, as defined by the Employer. Nurses working this twelve (12) hour shift schedule shall be paid overtime compensation at the rate of one and one-half (1 1/2) times the regular rate of pay for the first two (2) hours after the end of the twelve (12) hour shift or for any hours worked beyond forty (40) hours in a seven (7) day period. If a nurse works more than two (2) consecutive hours beyond the end of the twelve (12) hour shift, all overtime hours after fourteen (14) consecutive hours of work for that shift shall be paid at double time (2x).

  • BEREAVEMENT ALLOWANCE 16.01 (a) The employer agrees to allow employees leave of absence, without loss of pay for five consecutive regular working days (calculated at straight time at the base hourly rate) in the event of the death of a parent, spouse or child, provided the time is required to look after funeral arrangements or family needs.

  • Weekly Overtime An Employee required to work in excess of forty (40) hours per week shall be paid at the rate of time and one-half (1 1/2) for the first eight (8) hours of work in excess of the forty (40) hours and double time thereafter.
