Common use of Choice of Shifts Clause in Contracts

Choice of Shifts. A. Choice of shifts, not to exceed one (1) such choice in a period of ten (10) consecutive working days, on work which normally constitutes the daily task of the employees involved in the same department, or on work in the same department and seniority classification, shall be accorded employees in accordance with their plant-wide seniority, except on work where the skill and experience of certain individuals is necessary for the proper processing of the products, the operation of a department or the plant. It is also understood that the choice of shifts provided for in this Section shall not apply in the case of rotating shift operations.
