Common use of City-Provided Vehicles Clause in Contracts

City-Provided Vehicles. City retains the right to determine unilaterally to provide employees with City vehicles for the performance of City business in lieu of requiring employees to use their personal vehicles and reimbursing them at the above-stated mileage reimbursement rates. However, in making such determinations where multiple employees within the same work group are using personal vehicles, City will focus on the entire work group rather than on individual drivers within a work group. City will discuss any such intention with Union prior to making its decision. In the event City decides to provide City vehicles to employees, City will give employees affected by the decision notice to permit them to make decisions regarding the purchase or lease of personal vehicles with this change in mind.
