Common use of Civil Service Status Clause in Contracts

Civil Service Status. a) A Cadet Senior who successfully completes the Modified Training Academy will be placed in the Civil Service classification of Police Officer and automatically becomes a full- fledged Civil Service employee and has full Civil Service protection, subject to successfully completing probation. Until completion of probation, each officer hired through this Modified Hiring Process is an at-will employee who may be discharged by the Chief of Police at any time, without right of appeal.
