Clean Carpets and Floor Mats. Contractor shall: a) Remove all paper, gum, rubber bands, staples, paper clips and other debris from the carpet. b) Use a carpet vacuum to remove surface soil and embedded grit from all areas accessible to the carpet vacuum. Chairs and trash receptacles must be moved to vacuum underneath, and then placed in their original positions. c) Adjust the beater bars or brush of the vacuum to correspond to the pile height of the carpet. A tank vacuum with a crevice tool and brush attachment must be used to clean all areas, which are inaccessible to the carpet vacuum. d) Spot clean the carpet to remove all spots, stains, gum, tar and other foreign substances. When spot cleaning the carpet, the Contractor shall use a spray foam product and a soft bristle brush to agitate the area; any dampness must be removed by blotting the area with a clean soft cloth.
