Compassionate or Family Illness Leave. An employee shall be granted leave of absence for up to five (5) days per year without loss of pay or benefits for compassionate reasons or because of family illness. The employer may grant additional compassionate or family illness leave which shall be charged against vacation time or shall be leave without pay at the discretion of the employee.
