Compelling reasons. 12.8.2.1 The number of days available for use under Articles 12.8.2.2 Such days will be deducted from sick leave previously earned by the unit member. 12.8.2.3 The days allowed may not exceed the number of full pay days of illness or injury leave to which the unit member is entitled. 12.8.2.4 In compliance with the Education Code, personal necessity leave shall be for compelling reasons and shall be granted under the following conditions without pre-approval: 12.8.2.4.1 Death or serious illness of a member of the unit member’s immediate family, as defined in Article 12.
