Common use of Conditions of Unpaid Leaves Clause in Contracts

Conditions of Unpaid Leaves. Unless otherwise indicated, the following conditions shall apply for leaves: 1. Requests for leaves shall be in writing. 2. All leaves shall be limited to one (1) year or less unless otherwise specified. 3. Salary increments shall not accrue while on leave. 4. Sick leave days shall not accrue while on leave, but unused leave days held at the start of the leave shall be reinstated upon return from leave. 5. All fringe benefits paid by the Board will cease at the commencement of the unpaid leave, but the employee may, at his/her option, continue such benefits for one (1) year at his/her expense. 6. In order to facilitate planning an efficient operation of the School, employees on leave must notify the Board in writing at least thirty (30) days prior to the date of their intent to return to work. Failure to notify shall be deemed conclusive evidence of resignation.
