Conduit Requirements Sample Clauses
The Conduit Requirements clause sets out the standards and obligations related to the installation, maintenance, and use of conduits—such as pipes, ducts, or channels—for utilities or communications within a property or project. It typically specifies the types of materials to be used, the required dimensions, and the locations where conduits must be placed, as well as any compliance with applicable codes or regulations. By clearly defining these requirements, the clause ensures that all parties understand their responsibilities, helps prevent disputes over installation quality or placement, and facilitates the safe and efficient routing of necessary services.
Conduit Requirements. Conduit requirements will vary with each installation and type of room involved. Depending on the type of building construction, conduits will be of adequate size and will be based on the length and configuration of the pull involved. Contiguous runs are required from a room having hard ceilings and extending to a point where the area becomes open above where drop ceilings begin. Contiguous runs of conduit are required for ALL installations within a jail area, or other retention areas. In jail instances, no conduits will be run on the surface of walls Pull ropes are required to be placed in all contiguous conduit runs. In non-security areas, where there is no threat of disruption or where data, control, and telephone drop pairs are free from interference, conduits of adequate size and number may be stubbed off 6 inches above the drop ceiling of the communication room. All conduit runs will use sweeps ten times the diameter of the conduit, where out of line directions are required.
Conduit Requirements a. Conduit will be thinwall EMT unless otherwise specified.
b. Conduit fittings will be compression type.
c. Conduit will be installed in a good workmanship like manner.
(1) Conduits on or near conveyor equipment will be mounted clear from mechanical and electrical adjustable brackets, screws, etc.
(2) Conduit will not be attached to guard rails.
(3) Conduit will normally run parallel or perpendicular to conveyor or building structure.
Conduit Requirements. A. Size: Conduit shall be sized in accordance with the latest edition of the NEC unless shown otherwise, with minimum conduit size being ½ inch, except homeruns minimum size shall be 3/4”. Flexible metal and watertight (“sealtite”) conduit in size ½ inch and larger are acceptable for motor, appliance and fixture connections provided green ground wire is installed (see Section 260526) and NEC is followed.
B. All conduit will be provided with insulated throat.
C. Underground Installations:
1. More than Five Feet from Foundation Wall: Use rigid steel conduit, intermediate metal conduit, plastic coated conduit, thickwall nonmetallic conduit and thinwall nonmetallic conduit.
2. Within Five Feet from Foundation Wall: Use rigid steel conduit.
Conduit Requirements. When galvanized ridged steel or intermediate metal conduit only, two (2) inches or over is to be installed, two (2) employees shall be assigned where practical.
