Common use of Connection to Municipal Sanitary Sewer and/or Water System Clause in Contracts

Connection to Municipal Sanitary Sewer and/or Water System. Where a municipal sanitary sewer and/or water supply system is available, the subdivider shall construct or cause to be constructed, provided that the Village Board approves and authorizes such connection, all improvements necessary to connect the entire subdivision to the municipal sanitary sewer and/or municipal water system and allow the entire subdivision to be served by the municipal system(s). Such improvements shall be designed and constructed in accordance with the Village Engineer’s requirements. The Village generally disfavors the extension of municipal sewer and/or water services to areas which require construction of special facilities, such as lift and pumping stations, because of such facilities’ initial cost and continuing operational costs. Such costs must be addressed to the Village Board’s satisfaction before plat approval will be granted.
