Common use of Consumption of Alcohol Clause in Contracts

Consumption of Alcohol. Under North Carolina law, it is unlawful for any person under the age of 21 to possess or consume alcoholic beverages, including wine or beer. It is also unlawful for any person to buy alcoholic beverages for or furnish them for any purpose to anyone under the legal drinking age. Inside the apartment is the only place in the complex where persons of legal drinking age are permitted to possess or consume alcoholic beverages. Public display of open alcoholic beverages is not permitted in the common areas (outside the apartment including porch or balcony) of the apartment complex. Excessive drinking and intoxication will not be tolerated. The possession or storage of large beverage containers (i.e. kegs) either full or empty is strictly prohibited. Tenants who choose to drink will be held fully responsible for their own and their guests’ behavior while under the influence of alcohol.
