Common use of Continuing Education and Professional Development Clause in Contracts

Continuing Education and Professional Development. 22.01 Employees are encouraged to become personal members of library and related professional associations. The Board will subsidize this membership at a rate of $25.00 per staff member per year for membership in an appropriate professional organization as approved by the Chief Executive Officer. 22.02 The Board, subject to budgetary constraints, will give employees the opportunity to participate in conferences, seminars and workshops in accordance with the Board's past practice. 22.03 If the Board requires, as a condition of continued employment, either participation in any such conference, seminar or workshop, or membership in any library or related professional association, the employee will be reimbursed for expenses and lost regular pay.
